Environmental Issues
Since its inception, one of the cornerstones of Tri-Star operations has been to insure the highest standards be adhered to regarding all environmental aspects for the cleaning and recycling of thread protectors.

All of Tri-Star operations are conducted under full regulatory compliance through the guidelines set forth by the Texas Natural Resource Commission and the Environmental Protection Agency. Tri-Star is also a member of the T.N.R.C.C. Texas Recycled Program.

The process to clean and recondition thread protectors consists of a totally self-contained, completely closed loop cleaning system that segregates waste generated through the cleaning process into separate drums and holding tanks.  This waste is then properly disposed of and recycled through fully licensed fuel blending facilities and an in-house repurification system.  With each waste stream there are detailed records to insure accountability.

In addition to the above steps, the Tri-Star   environmental program is taken a step further.  We are one of the few thread protector companies that provides total recycling of thread protectors.  All of the plastic or metal material in a damaged or unusable protector is fully recycled.  This is accomplished through the granulating and grinding of plastic into reusable injection pellets and the shreading and smelting of all metal material through resale to mini-steel mills.
